Hebrew originA Hebrew slave serves six years and leaves free in the seventh unless he chooses to stay and has his ear pierced with an awl. A daughter sold as a slave keeps food, clothing and conjugal rights. If a goring ox kills a slave, the owner pays thirty shekels.
