acacia-wood

Acacia wood is given as a freewill contribution. The bronze altar of burnt offerings is made of it, five cubits square; Bezalel also makes the ark, table and incense altar of acacia.

almonds

Almonds are Canaan's produce in Genesis. Bezalel shapes the lamp-stand's cups like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud, on the six branches and the stand itself.

altar

Moses puts the altar of burnt offerings at the entrance to the Dwelling, anoints it as especially holy, and offers the burnt offering and cereal offering on it.

amethyst

A precious stone in the third row of the breastplate of judgement, with hyacinth and ruby.

ark

Noah's ark is the vessel God commands for preserving life through the flood.

ark-of-the-Testimony

Moses puts the Testimony in the ark, the mercy-seat on top, and brings the ark into the Dwelling, screening it with the curtain.

Anyone who touches Mount Sinai must be put to death without a hand laid on him: he must be stoned or shot by arrow, whether man or beast.

If a Hebrew slave chooses to stay with his master, wife and children, the master brings him before God and pierces his ear with an awl at the door or doorpost, and the slave is permanently his.
