Jacob pours oil on standing-stones at Bethel; for the Dwelling, oil is given for the light. Israel must bring pure pounded olive oil so a lamp can burn all the time. Aaron is anointed by oil poured on his head; cakes and wafers are mixed or spread with oil, and a quarter-hin of pounded olive oil accompanies each daily lamb. One hin of olive oil is blended with spices into the holy anointing oil. Bezalel and Oholiab are to make the anointing oil for the sanctuary.
