Levi
Tribe descending from Levi, Jacob and Leah's third son in Genesis 29, later set apart for priestly duties; in Genesis 49 Jacob pairs Levi with Simeon for rage and bloodshed and says they will be scattered in Israel. After the golden calf all the Levites rally to Moses, buckle on the sword, and consecrate themselves to Yahweh.
